MyEllevate is a minimally invasive light guided suture suspension system that helps treat the excess skin of the neck and prominent platysma bands. The treatment is typically performed under local anesthesia with no need for general anesthesia. Occasionally MyEllevate will be performed under general anesthesia if it is being combined with other surgical procedures.
MyEllevate is designed to be performed in the office under local anesthesia. This allows for a rapid recovery and avoids the costs and risks of general anesthesia. When the patient comes in for their treatment, the neck and platysma bands are marked out with the patient in the sitting position. At this point local anesthesia is injected in several areas to allow access to the neck.
The platysma bands are treated through these areas that are anesthetized by the local anesthesia. Once the bands have been released, more local anesthesia is placed throughout the neck area to allow for the liposuction and mobilization of the neck during the suture suspension portion of MyEllevate.
Once the entire neck has been released neck liposuction is performed. This liposuction performs several benefits, the first being removal of any excess adipose tissue from the neck to enhance the contour of the neck and jawline. The second is that it mobilizes the skin in the neck region so that the excess skin of the neck can be lifted and suspended to the mastoid fascia.
If patients have a significant amount of neck laxity then Renuvion may be used to treat the neck after the liposuction is completed and prior to the neck suspension. This will help improve the turgor of the skin and tighten the elevated skin.
The last step of MyEllevate is the light guided suture suspension, which will pass seamlessly through the neck at precise points since the neck has been previously anesthetized and mobilized. The suspension system will glide from the middle of the neck, behind an ear, around the neck to the the opposite ear, and then back to the midline to create a trampoline effect to elevate and suspend the neck- all under local anesthesia.
MyEllevate is a great minimally invasive neck lift option for patients that want to avoid general anesthesia, as most patients tolerate the procedure very well under local anesthesia in the office setting.
