Treating these fine lines and wrinkles can enhance your appearance, keeping you looking refreshed and rejuvenated without affecting your ability to express yourself — but it does minimize how much your skin wrinkles.

About BOTOX®
BOTOX® is an extremely popular facial rejuvenation treatment for good reason: not only does it smooth existing fine lines and wrinkles, but it also prevents them from forming later in life, making it ideal for patients of any age. Preventative or “Baby Botox” has become extremely popular as patients have become very attuned to preventative medicine. It functions by blocking signals from the nerves to the muscles. Specifically, it blocks the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from functioning in the treatment area. (1) By inhibiting muscle contractions, BOTOX® effectively softens wrinkles and fine lines, providing a smoother and more youthful complexion.

Preparation
There are very few preparatory steps to take before BOTOX®. Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your treatment and follow any skincare recommendations provided by our team to prepare your skin for optimal results. It may be necessary to discontinue blood thinners, supplements, and certain medications as advised to minimize the risk of complications.
BOTOX® Procedure
During the procedure, one of our skilled injectors administers precise injections of the neurotoxin directly into targeted facial muscles. This temporarily blocks nerve signals, preventing the muscles from contracting and forming wrinkles on the skin’s surface. By softening these dynamic wrinkles, BOTOX® effectively smooths out fine lines and creates a more refreshed look.
Our approach to BOTOX® treatment focuses on achieving natural-looking results tailored to each patient’s unique facial anatomy and aesthetic goals. The procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and requires no downtime, making it an ideal option for individuals seeking a convenient cosmetic enhancement.
Recovery & Results
After receiving BOTOX® injections, it’s common to experience minimal discomfort or minor bruising at the injection sites, which typically subside quickly. We advise against rubbing or touching the treated areas to allow the product to settle properly. It is also important to avoid strenuous activities and excessive sun exposure immediately after the procedure to optimize results.
Over the following days, you will notice a gradual reduction in wrinkles and fine lines as the BOTOX® relaxes the underlying facial muscles, providing a smoother and more youthful appearance. As the muscle relaxation effect sets in, your facial features will appear refreshed and rejuvenated. The skin-tightening properties of BOTOX® will enhance your natural contours, giving you a subtle yet noticeable cosmetic enhancement for 3-4 months. Our expertise ensures that the results are tailored to your unique facial structure, aiming for a natural look that boosts your self-confidence.
Corresponding Treatments
Other Neuromodulators
- Daxxify: Daxxify is another neurotoxin with similar properties to BOTOX®. Daxxify is often referred to as the premium peptide as it has a peptide that was specifically designed to extend the longevity of Daxxify treatments. However, clinical tests show that Daxxify results may last longer – up to 9 months in some patients! (3)
Most patients receive at least two months longer duration than with Botox or other traditional toxins.
- Jeuveau: Like BOTOX® and Daxxify, Jeuveau is an injectable neuromodulator. This formulation is FDA-approved to treat glabellar lines but may be used “off-label” for other areas of the face.
- Xeomin: Xeomin is another botulinum toxin type A product, but unlike BOTOX®, it does not contain any other ingredients. It is the purest form of botulinum toxin type A. Xeomin is often used to treat patients who have become resistant to Botox or other neuromodulators as it is a pure toxin and the least likely to develop resistance.
Dermal Fillers
- Juvéderm: Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler that restores volume and smooths wrinkles on the face. It is commonly employed alone or alongside BOTOX® to enhance facial contours and reduce the appearance of fine lines, providing a more youthful and refreshed appearance. Juvederm is very popular for lip enhancement as it can give the lips a contoured pout while still being soft and natural appearing.
- Radiesse: Composed of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier, Radiesse is a filler used primarily to diminish facial wrinkles and restore lost facial volume, though it may also be used in hand rejuvenation. It works by stimulating collagen production, offering long-lasting results for smoothing wrinkles and enhancing facial contours. Radiesse in dilute fashion often referred to as Hyper-dilute Radiesse has become a very popular biostimulant and can be used in facial and body rejuvenation.
- Sculptra: This is poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA) and is used to stimulate the body’s own collagen. This biostimulant has become increasingly popular with so many patients in the weight loss revolution on Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and other semaglutide medications. This can be used to restore volume to the face and body.
- RHA Filler: This hyaluronic acid filler is unique and often referred to as the modern filler as it has been designed to have dynamic motion. This modern motion with the RH filler has allowed patients to restore structure to their face and jawline while still having the dynamic motion of facial expression and appearance.

FAQ
How does BOTOX® work?
The mechanism behind BOTOX®’s efficacy lies in its unique function as an injectable neuromodulator. By targeting specific facial muscles (and body muscles) responsible for causing wrinkles and fine lines, BOTOX® works by inducing muscle relaxation. This targeted relaxation not only smooths out existing wrinkles but also prevents the formation of new ones, offering patients a comprehensive anti-aging solution that can be used to sculpt and shape the face and beyond!
What does BOTOX® treat?
BOTOX® is particularly effective in targeting dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive muscle movements, such as crow’s feet and forehead lines. The treatment not only reduces the visibility of existing wrinkles but also prevents the formation of new ones. This makes it a valuable option for those seeking effective anti-aging results. Botox can also be used to reduce muscle hypertrophy (muscles that are too big) such as in the Trapezius (Barbie Botox) and Calf (Boot Botox) to contour the body.
Can I get BOTOX® at the same time as dermal fillers?
Yes, it is possible to receive BOTOX® injections and dermal fillers during the same treatment session. Many individuals opt for this combination to address multiple concerns such as wrinkles and volume loss in one appointment. It is essential to consult with a qualified medical professional who can assess your specific needs and determine the most suitable treatment plan for you.
What can BOTOX® and fillers do for me in combination?
BOTOX® and dermal fillers are effective in reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and creases, giving the skin a smoother and more youthful appearance. While BOTOX® addresses dynamic wrinkles (those that appear with facial movement), dermal fillers address static signs of aging such as nasolabial folds, and add volume. Their combined use can offer long-lasting results that defy the signs of aging.
