QuantumRF
Consultations offered at our three convenient locations in Austin, TX, San Antonio, TX and Westlake Hills, TX
QuantumRF is a treatment that uses fractionated radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin for anti-aging purposes or to help the skin retract after weight loss. It combines the power of radiofrequency energy with advanced techniques to achieve remarkable, non-surgical results in skin tightening to both the face and body. It is equipped with bipolar radiofrequency, allowing the device to distribute energy evenly beneath the skin without damaging the dermis or causing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The pulses trigger new collagen production and cause collagen fibers to contract, smoothing out lax skin.
At Austin Plastic Surgeon, we are excited to offer QuantumRF, a cutting-edge skin-tightening technology designed to rejuvenate your skin and enhance your natural beauty. Stay tuned for more information on this revolutionary treatment and be among the first to experience the future of aesthetic care.

How Does QuantumRF Work?
Created by high-definition liposuction pioneer Dr. Alfredo Hoyos, QuantumRF is one of the latest technologies by InMode, a leading company in the world of aesthetic medical devices. QuantumRF’s skin-tightening capabilities are versatile, offering significant face and body contouring effects in one of the least invasive ways possible. This lightweight Teflon-coated device allows clinicians to smoothly and evenly deliver bipolar radiofrequency (RF) at a controlled depth. When this RF comes into contact with the subcutaneous layer, it becomes controlled thermal energy. As a relatively simple procedure that only requires local anesthesia, a nurse, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner can perform it for patients to gradually reveal naturally revitalized, youthful skin in the weeks following the procedure.
As the pioneer of VASER- the technology behind high-definition liposuction– Dr. Alfredo Hoyos’ innovation with QuantumRF has enhanced liposuction outcomes and can create more ideal contours that will last for years.
Treatment Types
There are two variations of the treatment; QuantumRF 25 has a longer probe well-suited for larger surface areas (25 cm), whereas QuantumRF 10 is appropriate for more precise areas, such as the neck (10 cm). QuantumRF 10 can specifically target the subdermal plexus– the layer of tissue that offers blood supply and nutrients to the skin. Its fractionated quality means that the device releases RF pulses in a fragmented way, improving wrinkles and sagging without distributing too much thermal energy.
Benefits
QuantumRF is a minimally invasive alternative to conventional skin-removing procedures that offers a variety of benefits:
- Both devices have a probe diameter that is approximately a tenth of an inch, which is ideal for promoting faster recovery for delicate skin areas.
- QuantumRF is an advanced technology that leverages clinically proven fractionated radiofrequency (FRF) to maximal depths.
- Clinicians only need to apply local anesthesia, so patients can avoid the risks associated with general anesthesia.
- Full spectrum treatment depths between 0.5 mm and 6 cm offer superficial to deep rejuvenation.
- It is equipped with a temperature monitoring system that ensures temperatures remain at levels safe and suitable for the skin.
- Clinicians can apply Morpheus8 to the surface of the skin as an add-on to the procedure to synergistically treat skin laxity at multiple depths.
- As a complementary treatment to Aveli, patients can enjoy textural skin improvements after cellulite treatment. (1)
- It is ideal to treat skin laxity commonly referred to as “Ozempic face” or “Ozempic body” post-weight-loss.
- The system is designed to provide precise and controlled treatments, minimizing damage to the dermis and reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
- RF in concentrated form protects vital peripheral nerves and surrounding connective tissues.
- RF pulses not only tighten collagen fibers and stimulate new collagen production, but they also coagulate fat deposits, further enhancing skin contraction. (2)
Ideal Candidates
QuantumRF can produce incredible results for patients who have mild to moderate skin laxity and may not desire to undergo a skin-removing procedure like a tummy tuck or neck lift. Ideal candidates should be non-smoking individuals, but the surgeons at Austin Plastic Surgeon will consider those who can quit for some time before and after their treatment. Patients should also be close to their ideal weight and be able to maintain a stable weight after the procedure. Since it is not a plasma skin-tightening device, QuantumRF is suitable for all skin types.

QuantumRF Procedure Steps
For a QuantumRF procedure, your surgeon will first administer local anesthesia with an injectable tumescent solution and offer complimentary laughing gas to keep you comfortable. They will then make a tiny incision to accommodate the diameter (2.2-3.3 mm) of the QuantumRF probe. They will insert this thin probe just under the skin, ensuring that it stays superficial within the tissue. The device’s tip has a light that provides your surgeon with an accurate view of where the probe is during the procedure. They will administer the RF around the treatment area, completing the entire treatment within approximately 1 hour, depending on the size of the surface area. Your surgeon will then close the incision with a surgical bandage and provide you with a compression garment to wear while healing. This will be vital to control swelling and create optimal contours once you heal completely.
Recovery and Results
You may have some swelling and bruising during your recovery period, but you will be able to return to desk work within just a few days. Your surgeon may prescribe medication to keep you comfortable during the first days of recovery or you may be able to use OTC medications. You will need to return to the office for a follow-up appointment to allow your surgeon to evaluate your healing progress. They will provide you with more detailed information about how to use your compression garment, when you can switch to part-time usage, and incision care. Depending on the extent of your treatment, you will be able to enjoy your final results within a few months of the initial procedure/s. By finding a skincare routine that works for you, applying daily sunscreen, and maintaining your weight, you can reap the benefits of QuantumRF for several years post-procedure. You will see noticeable tightness and less sagging in the treatment area long after your recovery.
Corresponding & Complementary Procedures
Aveli
Aveli is a one-time, in-office procedure that treats cellulite in the buttocks and thighs. The Aveli device allows your provider to release the fibrous septae that tether your skin down to the muscle below it, creating cellulite depressions. QuantumRF is an ideal procedure to opt for after Aveli since it encourages skin retraction, as most patients with cellulite also have some skin laxity. Your provider can perform a QuantumRF treatment during the same procedure and using the same incision/s used for Aveli.
Morpheus8 or Vivace Radiofrequency Microneedling
Morpheus8 is a skin rejuvenation device that applies extremely fine needles to the surface of the skin combined with RF energy. It triggers collagen regeneration for weeks after the initial treatment and erases wrinkles and fine lines as a result. The needles themselves transmit RF energy into the dermis of the skin to promote similar tightening effects to QuantumRF. In addition to its anti-aging effect, it can also fade the appearance of deeper acne scars and stretch marks, over a treatment series. Many patients choose to undergo QuantumRF to treat an area of lax skin and then follow up with Morpheus8 to further enhance and maintain the results.
Cost of QuantumRF in Austin
The cost of your QuantumRF treatment will depend on the size of the treatment area and complementary procedures. As a one-time treatment, QuantumRF can effectively provide you with revitalizing results that a non-invasive procedure cannot deliver.
