Muscle Tox in Austin has become one of the hottest trends in aesthetics over the past year. This is the art of using neurotoxins to sculpt and contour various muscles in the body. We have used neurotoxins in the past to relax muscles in the face to decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It has also been used in the face to treat masseter muscles to slim the face and help with TMJ issues. This concept has expanded to treat various other muscles of the body, such as the trapezius and calf muscles, to sculpt, slim, or contour the appearance of these muscles. Our team can help you learn more about this body sculpting treatment.

What is Muscle Tox?
Austin Muscle Tox is the use of neurotoxins such as Daxxify, Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin to sculpt muscles throughout the body. The concept is that the muscles are injected precisely, often using ultrasound, to help shape the muscle and release some of the tension that may be caused by that specific muscle group.
Evolution
Neurotoxins such as Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, Daxxify, and Xeomin have been used extensively in the aesthetic world to help treat fine lines and wrinkles for over twenty years. As our understanding of these medications continues to evolve, so does our ability to use them to sculpt and shape the body. Treating the trapezius muscle with Muscle Tox has become extremely popular in Austin as this can help release tension in the neck and shoulders while giving the lower neck and shoulders a slimmer appearance. The other common area that has recently become extremely popular is the calf muscles, as this can be an area that can cause hypertrophy with exercise. Precise injections can help give the calves a slimmer appearance while maintaining the calf muscles’ function.
Unique Procedure
Neurotoxins have been used for fine muscles in the face to help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for years. However, Austin muscle tox is being used to help shape and sculpt the muscle itself. This can be used to shape and sculpt various areas of the body, from the face to the neck and legs. Technology, such as ultrasound, has made these treatments safe and precise, as the muscle can be visualized in real time. This allows Botox, Daxxify, Xeomin, or Dysport to be injected into the specific muscle in the perfect location.
Treatments
Muscle Tox is performed after a consultation and examination to determine the Austin patient’s aesthetic goals. Once the specific muscle to be treated has been determined, then it is identified with the use of an ultrasound and injected with a neurotoxin. Patients will not see a difference immediately as it will take time for the toxin to help the muscle relax, and this will lead to the sculpting effect of the toxin treatment.
Results
Muscle Tox duration is slightly different than when we treat our frown lines or facial wrinkles. Patients in Austin will typically need a little more time to see the results of the Muscle Tox, as the injections will help relax the muscles and slowly decrease the muscle size. As the onset is slower with muscle tox, so is the resulting volume of the muscle. Thus, patients often achieve a much longer-lasting result from muscle tox than they do with their typical facial injections.
In general, most patients will be able to be treated two or three times a year to achieve the results that they desire.
Commonly Treated Muscles
Our Austin team can treat a variety of muscles with Muscle Tox, depending on the desired effect of the treatment.
Facial
Fine lines and wrinkles. Botox, Daxxify, and Dysport are common neuromodulators that are used to treat muscles of the face, such as the frontalis, orbicularis, glabella muscles, and masseter muscles are just a few of the muscles treated in the face. Treatment of these muscles can be used to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, shape the face, and lift the brows.
Masseter Muscles
This is one of the larger muscles in the face that is commonly treated with neuromodulators such as Botox and Daxxify. The injection of these muscles can help shape the lower portion of the face. It can give the face a slimmer appearance.
Trapezius
Treatment of this muscle is often referred to as Trap Tox or Barbie Botox. The trap muscle is treated with Botox or Daxiffy to help relax the muscle. This has the effect of giving the neck an extended and slimmer appearance. Many patients have also reported that it has helped decrease the tension in their necks.
Calf Muscles (Gastrocnemius/Soleus)
The luxury leg experience has continued to explode over the past few years. The muscles of the calf can be targeted with precision to give the legs a slimmer, sleeker appearance. Many women have also turned to muscle tox for their calves to help with their fashion choices as, at times, certain boots do not fit well.
And much more! The ability to treat and sculpt multiple muscle groups throughout the body with Muscle Tox continues to grow as technology advances.
Neurotoxins
Any of the neurotoxins can be used for muscle tox. Daxxify is a longer-lasting neurotoxin that has become extremely popular for muscle tox treatment in Austin; however, they all work extremely well. Often patients will start with Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin, and once they love the result, they will then transition to the longer-acting toxin.
Combining With Other Procedures
Body sculpting is a complex process that typically involves multiple therapies and treatments for the best results. Treating the muscle itself with Muscle Tox is an additional level of therapy to help our patients in Austin achieve their aesthetic goals!
